Meet The Shower Essential For Smoother Skin
It’s been two years since I’ve been WFH and 16 months since my showers became shorter because goodbye daily commute and related germs. But lately, I’ve been spending an extra few minutes in the shower with this $10 all-in-one exfoliating tool. For the last month, I’ve been using the CSM Body Brush 3-4 times a week and my skin is noticeably smoother - like softer than brie.
At my book club, one of my friends was digging around in her gym bag and I noticed this round brush with bristles and white nodules. It just looked very odd to me. So I asked her about it and she gave me the rundown on how amazing dry brushing has been for her dry skin and that pesky cellulite around her butt. My relationship with the bumpy areas of my skin is very estranged so I was sold! I purchased two – one for the house and one for my gym bag too.
I wet brush because I haven’t gotten comfortable with the idea of scraping my already dry skin yet. I use the body brush in the shower every other day. I don’t take baths often but it’s bath friendly as well. I take hot showers so it works really well once my pores have opened up. I rotate between body gels, washes and oils so I’ll lather up with either one of those first, then I’ll use the body brush in circular motion to gently scrub my skin everywhere – except my face and neck – for about 5-7 minutes. Weirdly, I get so excited seeing ugly tiny gray ribbons of dead skin just rolling off. After, I can easily shave.
Avoid any area that tends to be sensitive and try a test patch first. You can adjust the softness of your strokes with your own hand. The white nodules are there to balance any intensity of the bristles and it doesn’t irritate your skin. Also, with sensitive skin, you can use it less often and still yield the benefits.
The brush dries really quickly so you can purchase just one and toss it in your tote once you’re done. I follow up with my body oil and my skin soaks it up with no dead cells in the way, to achieve that all-over glow. You can also use this brush as a dry brush – I love that it’s multipurpose and more bang for my buck. I also noticed that my stretch marks appear to be less angry looking and I have less ingrowns to deal with. Huge win.
