It’s Time to Create Emma Corrin’s Beauty Looks As Princess Diana

Netflix’s The Crown has finally debut the most popular and stylish member of the royal family – Princess Diana Spencer, as played by young newcomer Emma Corrin. Each of Emma’s looks were meticulously chosen after months of research to perfectly emulate the late Princess’s effortless charm. From natural to glamorous, we rounded up four looks for you to joyously replicate Princess Di’s defined and authentic beauty:

Embrace being bare

Emma’s makeup artist, Cate Hall, admits that she used no foundation on Emma for the first few episodes to reflect Diana’s younger years. At this point, you’re wondering: “but how did Emma still manage to look snatched?” Two words: radiant skin. Even looking back through Diana’s most casual photos, anyone can see she had luminous and glowing skin. The Princess’s former makeup artist, Mary Greenwell, confirmed that Di kept a consistent skincare routine for a fresh complexion. To brighten skin naturally, we start with a gentle daily exfoliant like Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, followed by a layer of moisturizer like OleHenriksen Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer.

 Apply bottom eyeliner

Let’s be honest – we haven’t done this in years, especially not for a casual outing. However, Princess Di was known for donning her iconic bottom eyeliner in blue. To recreate this look, depending on how dramatic you feel, we suggest NYX Retractable Eye Liner for soft brown or electric blue. Don’t be afraid if the eyeliner goes awry as you swipe – you can use your pinky finger (in true 90’s fashion) and gently smudge for a natural look. To keep the eyeliner from transferring to under your eyes, try a waterproof formula and finish with a sweep of translucent powder.

Flush those cheeks

While it seems like Diana’s cheeks were naturally rosy like literally all of the time, you can recreate those perfectly flushed cheeks. Start with a dewy base. So grab your favorite face oil or primer. We like Laneige Glowy Makeup Serum. Follow with a gentle sweep or dab of a creamy blush across your cheekbones. Choose a natural color like Werk (dusty rose) in Milk Makeup’s Lip + Cheek Tint to achieve that coy feminine look. Remember to angle the blush upward to soften the color payoff.

Bold lip statement

Don’t sleep on a bold pink lip lacquer like Velvet Underground in Charlotte Tilbury’s K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick. Diana was known to experiment with new lip colors based on her mood but according to Greenwell, she favored bright shades of pinks. The princess was onto something: bright lips pair perfectly with rosy cheeks and a charming style. A slightly dramatic pink pout can exude a sense of romance and approachability. For a youthful look, play around with adding something strikingly glossy to your lips like Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer.
