Amazon Shoppers Are Loving This $20 Face Shaping Mask
There is now a way to tighten and sculpt your jawline and reduce the appearance of the much-detested double chin while binging Netflix on your sofa – we are not joking. We were very skeptical that there may be a product out there for face contouring, as an alternate to facial fillers, fitness, diet, and tons of makeup. We had to give it a shot and rated this mask of face-slimming sorcery on the following categories:
EFFICIENCY – 7.5/10
We totally rolled our eyes when we first came across this: it can’t be as easy as applying a dang mask? After wearing the mask each day for one week (usually while answering work emails, due to least amount of facial movement), we collectively noticed that our jawlines were slightly more defined, albeit the results did not last for more than two days. But, some of our skepticism was well-founded because those of us with sensitive skin experienced mild redness and irritation for an hour or so after removing the mask. One Amazon reviewer commented that she “ended up with a hideous chemical burn” so we recommend testing the mask before applying it directly to your face. While we wouldn’t suggest this mask for long-term use, we look forward to using it a week before a special occasion for quick lifting and definition.
COMFORT – 8/10
Initially, the mask was uncomfortable and left us feeling a foreign sensation since our under-chin area is usually untouched, let alone firmly pulled back and up. But, the cooling sensation when you first put the mask on was soothing and we got used to pulling it tight behind our ears by day two. Many Amazon shoppers have felt comfortable enough to leave the mask on overnight, during a full night’s sleep.
EASY OF USE – 9/10
The mask stretches as much as you need it to for a comfortable fit. Once it contours to your jaw and chin, you can wear it easily for a few hours without realizing it’s even there. Amazon shoppers appreciate that the mask loops around the ears for a more secure hold than a sheet mask. But, since the effectiveness of the mask is based on a 7-day commitment, we had to remember to put in on everyday – we actually put a daily reminder on our calendars.
