The “No Makeup” Makeup Look That Doesn’t Require 235 Products

The last time we tried to follow a YouTube tutorial for that “no makeup” makeup look, we ended up with almost a hundred products sprawled all over the bathroom counter (and the floor, lets be real) and shamefully had a full face of glam. Our take on that faux I slept 8 hours and worked out before coming here starts with…

Tint + Conceal + SPF

After prepping your skin with your usual skincare routine (tip: after brushing your teeth, use your toothbrush to exfoliate your lips to get rid of all dry skin), apply a small dollop of tinted primer to your temple, cheeks, and chin (we suggest using the Tarte BB Tinted Primer). Massage it in with your fingers or a slightly moist blender. Next, apply a small amount of the tinted primer under your eyes and gently dab for immediate brightness and coverage. The best part: with the Tarte BB Tinted Primer, you don’t have to worry about using SPF separately – it comes with added protection with SPF 30.

Eye + Brow

For making that “no makeup” makeup look believable, focusing on the eyes is important so you look energized and ready to take on the day. Grab any eyepencil you have - we love the multipurpose Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil because it doubles as a precise eyebrow pencil and a soft eye liner. First, fill in your eyebrows along your natural shape and use the spoolie to tame any stray hairs by brushing upwards (more tips on managing unruly eyebrow hair here). Next, use the eye pencil to trace a soft line along your upper and lower lashes. This can be totally messy. Using your finger or a Q-tip, slightly smudge the product so it gives a blurred and natural tint around your eyes. If it’s Bachelor Monday, go nuts and add a wing to that liner!

Lip + Blush

Next up, we suggest using the Nars The Multiple stick and applying a light layer to your lips – blend it in with your finger. You can build this up until you have the desired lip color. Snatched! Next, apply this to your cheeks for a sheer and natural blush. You can also apply it to your eyes along the crease and inner corners to provide more subtle color and a hint of dewiness. For warmer weather, you can apply the stick to your collar bones for an overall glowing goddess look. In short, just put this thing every..where…you want – there are no rules!
