Tame Unruly Hair In Your Laundry Room
Show of hands: who finds hair frizz deeply annoying and always inconvenient? I’m talking about that feeling of blow drying your unruly hair and giving yourself a wink in the mirror because you look good only to walk outside to rain and humidity. Cue the static and puffiness. I’ll now direct you to two of my anti-frizz hacks based on your personality type: prepared versus unprepared (I tend to toggle between the two).
Unprepared? Get The Dryer Sheets For Hair
Imagine marveling at your glamorous locks that you created with your bare hands and feeling them ruined by frizz within the minute. I heard of a popular rumor that rubbing a dryer sheet for hair could make your unruly hairs silky smooth as it was before frizz and static entered the picture. First impression: it works well. Like I’ll-never-be-unprepared-for-humidity-ever-again well. Moving just one dryer sheet (I used Bounce) from my roots to ends with my hand behind my hair gave my strands a less “electrocuted” look. If you’re in a rush or on a budget when it comes to serious frizz control, pack dryer sheets - remember to keep them in the box until use so they don’t get worn out from touching other surfaces.
Prepared? Get These Hair Sheets
When I tend to be better prepared for those clammy days I gravitate towards Ouai’s Anti-Frizz Hair Sheets for a frizzy hair solution. The cute travel-size packaging and intriguing concept roped me in (warning: may be confused for a cigarette box). But is it enough to make me a repeat purchaser? Of course, these hair sheets are not as much of a bargain as dryer sheets. The funny thing is, I experienced a serious case of oily fingers, as in “did I just eat some french fries I don’t know about?” The strategy behind these hair sheets is they are coated with coconut and shea oil in order to mollify stray hairs. But this tactic may not be ideal for my fellow oily-haired friends. Since my hair is on the normal/combination side, these sheets tamed the frizz while my strands soaked up the added benefits, all without looking greasy. Welcome to my new static-free life.
